Samsung South Africa seems to be prepping the release of the Galaxy J1 Ace Neo in the region as the company's official website has revealed its existence. The handset is a budget offering as evidenced by the hardware specs sheet. Samsung hasn't divulged pricing related information as of now, so we're still somewhat in the dark about that aspect.

But going by the hardware, one can predict that the handset won't cost more than Rs 8,000, although we've been very surprised by Samsung's pricing strategy in the past. The handset will be available in White, Black and Blue as per the website. Much to our surprise, the Galaxy J1 Ace Neo is a single-SIM device, which is unheard of in the budget handset market. However, we expect Samsung to release a dual-SIM model for the Asian region.

Much to our disappointment, the handset is running Android 5.1 Lollipop and not Marshmallow. Knowing how most Samsung mid-rangers and budget devices come with Marshmallow out of the box, one would have expected the same from the Galaxy J1 Ace Neo.

Galaxy J1 Ace Neo hardware specs include:

· 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800) display
· 9.5mm thick
· 135 grams
· 1 GHz quad-core processor
· 5MP rear camera
· 2MP front camera
· Android 5.1 Lollipop
· 1,900mAh battery
· 4G LTE
